Trek Virginia Appalachians
Virginia carries more of the Appalachian Trail than any other state, including the Triple Crown — McAfee Knob, Tinker Cliffs and Dragon's Tooth on one loop. North of them, Shenandoah looks like wilderness. It was made: in the 1930s Virginia condemned more than three thousand tracts across eight counties and moved out around five hundred families, some of whom had farmed the same ground for two hundred and fifty years.
