Day 2 · the road in

Ruta 7 through the Precordillera, the last settlement before the park. First night at altitude.
Most expeditions walk up the Horcones valley with everyone else. The 360 goes in the other side, over the top, and out the Normal Route.

Day 3 · into the Vacas

Register at the park office, then into the Vacas valley — the quiet eastern approach most climbers never see.

Day 4 · the valley narrows
Casa de Piedra3,245 m
Scrub gives way to high desert and the valley starts to narrow. You can feel the air thinning.

Day 5 · base camp
Plaza Argentina4,200 m
West up the Relinchos to the eastern base camp. Heated domes, hot showers. Home for a week.

Climb high.
Sleep low.
Ledger: expedition program, days 6 to 13. Two weather reserve days follow.
Summit day.

Depart Berlín at 4 am. Above the Canaleta the ridge broadens to the cross. Highest point in the world outside the Himalaya.

Out the other side.
