Arches & Canyonlands
Arches is slickrock and desert canyon country outside Moab, holding more than two thousand natural stone arches. In 1952 a geologist hit one of the richest uranium seams in America just south of town. Moab tripled in ten years and called itself the Uranium Capital of the World.
