Benasque
Benasque sits under Aneto, at 3,404 metres the highest peak in the Pyrenees, in a valley reached by one road: a five-kilometre slot blasted through the Congosto de Ventamillo. It was finished in 1916. La Renclusa, the valley's first guarded refuge, opened the same year and is still the Aneto basecamp.
