EUR pricing for the Aneto Normal Route, the Salterillo bypass, Posets, the Estós lakes circuit, and Ibón de Cregüeña. No park entry fee — FAM refugio half-board is the dominant cost.

2026 rates. Refugio pricing from FEDME/FAM published ranges. Rescue is free in Aragón regardless of federation membership.

Trek

2 days on trail + 1 refugio night

Alpine mountaineering — glacier crossing, Puente de Mahoma (exposed grade I-II). Not a hike. Alpine crampons mandatory on both route options.

Since 2022-23, GREIM/FAM have recommended the Salterillo bypass over this direct line in most years — check the current-season advisory before committing to this route.

Federation membership

Refugio de la Renclusa (1 night, 92 beds)

92 beds against an estimated 200-500 daily summit attempts in peak season — book well ahead. Plus ~€15/day beyond half-board (bar extras).

Insurance

Glacier gear (Aneto — both route options)

The remaining glacier ice is now hard, exposed fossil ice — alpine crampons (10-12 point) required on both route options, even the Salterillo bypass near its final approach.

Reality check

Rescue itself is free in Aragón — the Interior Ministry explicitly rejected fee-for-rescue in Spain (March 2026), even after France began studying charging climbers for negligent rescues. That doesn’t cover medical treatment or repatriation, which is what travel insurance is actually for here. Separately: since 2023, FEDME federation reciprocity no longer covers this valley’s refugios — only FAM membership reliably discounts at Renclusa, Ángel Orús, or Estós.

Glacier & crowding reality

Since 2022-23, GREIM/FAM have steered climbers off the direct Portillón Superior line toward the Salterillo bypass as the remaining ice hardened into exposed fossil ice. On September 15, 2025, GREIM performed 8 rescues in under 24 hours on the glacier. Renclusa’s 92 beds sit against an estimated 200-500 daily summit attempts in peak season — book the refugio early, and check the current-year route advisory before you commit to either option.

Park entry: FREE — no general access fee in Posets-Maladeta. La Besurta requires the shuttle bus 20 Jun-13 Sep (2026 fare not published in a Tier-1 source — budget a few euros cash). Benasque research

Sources

Every number in this calculator is traceable to a primary source. No affiliate links. No commissions from agencies.

Methodology: FAM refugio half-board uses the same published range across all three huts in this valley (€40-65 non-member, ~30% discount for FAM members) — Renclusa, Ángel Orús, and Estós are all FAM properties. Flight costs are fare-aggregator midpoints. Airport transfers are estimated from published bus operator routes (Alosa, Monbus); Toulouse has no direct transit link and requires a bus/taxi combination. There is no park entry fee to model. The La Besurta shuttle-bus fare for the 2026 season was not found in a Tier-1 source and is intentionally left uncosted here — budget a few euros cash and confirm locally. The calculator does not include: gear you already own, side trips outside the chosen trek, or travel insurance beyond the line item shown.
