Cerro Domuyo

A volcanic dome standing 4,709 metres above empty steppe, with boiling springs and geysers on its lower flanks. Guides call it dormant. Satellite geodesy has it inflating fifteen centimetres a year across more than three hundred square kilometres — one of the most actively deforming silicic systems in the southern Andes. Around 940 people register to climb it in a season.
