Fairy Meadows to Nanga Parbat BC
Not yet safety-verifiedThe most accessible approach to an 8,000m peak in the Karakoram. From Raikot Bridge on the KKH, a jeep road (one of Pakistan's most dangerous) climbs to Tato Village, then a 5.5km trek through forest reaches Fairy Meadows — an alpine pasture at 3,300m with direct views of Nanga Parbat's Raikot Face. Beyond, Beyal Camp leads to the base camp at ~3,967m. No permits required, but foreign nationals register at Raikot Bridge and may be assigned a police escort. Wooden hut accommodation at Fairy Meadows.

Gilgit-Baltistan's tourism department documents the access — a 15 km jeep road from Raikot Bridge to Tato that the department itself describes as 'dangerous and narrow', restricted to local operators — but publishes no route-level safety fields for the trek beyond. We will not fill that gap from blogs.
