Nepal has no free state mountain-rescue service. Helicopter evacuation is run by private operators and you pay before the flight — cash or a confirmed insurance guarantee up front — so travel insurance that explicitly covers heli rescue is essential.

Buy trekking travel insurance that explicitly names helicopter rescue AND high-altitude medical treatment up to your trek's maximum altitude (state 6,000 m+ if you go high), with a medevac/repatriation limit of at least USD 100,000. Specialist alpine cover works well: Global Rescue membership, Austrian Alpine Club (ÖAV) insurance, or World Nomads Explorer.
