Männlichen gondola has no published price with Half-Fare Card + BO Pass 6-day. The Berner Oberland Pass FAQ does not name it among the free routes, and the official validity map could not be read for it. We will not quote a figure we cannot source, so it is left out of the total above — which means the total is an under-estimate. Price itin the operator's booking engine, or switch to “No pass” to see the published full fares.
Pass savings
CHF 404 = CHF 150 Half-Fare Card + CHF 254 reduced-rate 6-day Berner Oberland Pass. Free with it: Schynige Platte, the Schilthorn route, both lakes' boats. But the Jungfraujoch is 25% off, not 50% and not free, and Grindelwald-First is half fare, not free. The same excursions at full fare would be CHF 604.20. The pass is valid all year at the same price — there are no seasonal rates.
Realidade
A helicopter rescue in the Bernese Oberland costs CHF 4,500-20,000+. Rega patronage (CHF 40/year) routinely waives these costs. The EHIC (EU card) does not cover mountain rescue or helicopter evacuation.

Mountain excursions breakdown
CHF 261.20 return + CHF 10 compulsory reservation. The BO Pass gives 25% off, not 50% and not free; no combined BO-Pass-plus-Half-Fare figure is published.
CHF 115 full / CHF 57.50 half-fare, both published by the operator. Free on the entire Lauterbrunnen–Stechelberg/Grütschalp–Schilthorn route with the BO Pass.
CHF 76 return, Season 2. The BO Pass gives half fare here — it is not free, whatever the guidebooks say.
CHF 74 return, Season 2. Männlichen is not named in the Berner Oberland Pass FAQ's free list, so we quote no pass price for it at all.
CHF 68 return from Wilderswil (CHF 75.60 from Interlaken Ost). Free with the BO Pass, reinstated July 2025.
Compulsory 1 May–31 October 2026 and not included in the listed ticket prices, so it is billed on top under every pass.

Metodologia: Mountain railway fares are read off the Jungfraubahnen 2026 tariff sheet, 2nd class, return, Season 2 (1 May–31 October 2026) — the season that applies to any summer trip. Schilthorn fares come from schilthorn.ch. Pass prices and coverage come from the Berner Oberland Pass, SBB and MySwitzerland. SAC hut half-board uses the documented CHF 68 member midpoint (range CHF 60-75) and CHF 96 non-member midpoint (range CHF 85-106). Three things this calculator deliberately refuses to quote: Jungfraubahnen half fares (the tariff sheet has no half-fare column, and the marketed “from CHF 129.60” Jungfraujoch figure is not half of CHF 261.20, so halving would be a guess); per-mountain Swiss Travel Pass discounts for this region (no official source publishes one — only “up to 50%”); and Männlichen under the Berner Oberland Pass (absent from the FAQ's free list). Those render as “Not published” and are excluded from the total rather than estimated. Food and town lodging are cost-of-living bands, not operator rates — Swiss hotels publish prices only through booking engines. SBB publishes no static point-to-point fare table, so airport transfers are indicative 2nd-class fares rather than a quoted tariff, halved when a Half-Fare Card is selected. Flight costs are fare-aggregator midpoints. Every fare here expires 12–13 December 2026, when an announced average +3.9% national increase takes effect. The calculator does not include: gear you already own, side trips outside the Bernese Oberland, the municipal visitor tax and cantonal lodging levy, or alcohol beyond the hut extras estimate.
