A helicopter rescue in the Bernese Oberland costs CHF 4,500-20,000+. Rega patronage (CHF 40/year) routinely waives these costs. The EHIC (EU card) does not cover mountain rescue or helicopter evacuation.

Metodología: SAC hut half-board uses the documented CHF 68 member midpoint (range CHF 60-75) and CHF 96 non-member midpoint (range CHF 85-106), from 2026 SAC published guidelines. Mountain railway fares from jungfrau.ch and schilthorn.ch current-season pricing. Transport pass costs from official SBB, Swiss Travel System, and Berner Oberland Pass sources. Flight costs are fare-aggregator midpoints. Airport transfers are published SBB 2nd-class fares. The calculator does not include: gear you already own, side trips outside the Bernese Oberland, or alcohol beyond the hut extras estimate. Mandatory item not shown: sleeping bag liner for SAC huts (bring your own).
