K2 Aviation, Talkeetna Air Taxi, or Sheldon Air Service. Ski-equipped planes land on the glacier. Weather delays common.

Rental range $500-1,500 depending on what you need. Full buy-in for expedition-grade gear (boots, down suit, -40° bag, sled) runs $3,000+.

36% summited in 2025. Budget for not summiting. Weather windows on Denali are unpredictable — teams routinely spend extra days tent-bound. The mountain generates its own weather system. NPS fee and air taxi are non-refundable regardless of outcome.
Park road closure
Road closed at Mile 43 since 2021 due to the Pretty Rocks landslide. Wonder Lake, Eielson Visitor Center, and all viewpoints beyond Mile 43 are inaccessible by road. No reopening date announced. Plan park visits around the first 43 miles only.

Gear rental estimates are from Alaska Mountaineering & Hiking (Anchorage) and guide service rental lists. Food costs assume 21 days of expedition food at altitude. Talkeetna lodging is 3-5 nights (pre-expedition registration + weather holds + post-expedition recovery). The calculator does not include: gear you already own, Anchorage hotel nights, or tips for guides.
